Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho Gaúcho will bring his world-renowned skills to Sydney next month, headlining an exhibition match against Tim Cahill.

The event is expected to draw significant attention from fans across the country.

The match, titled Ronaldinho’s XI vs. Cahill’s XI, will feature a host of international football talent on November 1 at CommBank Stadium

Ronaldinho, previously hailed as the best player in the world while starring for Barcelona, will lead a squad of global icons.

Meanwhile Cahill’s team will comprise Australian football greats, with over 450 combined caps from Matildas and Socceroos players. 

Final squad lists are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, adding to the excitement surrounding the event.

This marks Ronaldinho’s first visit to Australia in several years, and the former Barcelona and Brazil star is eager to take the field once again.

‘It’s always an honour to play in front of fans who love the game as much as I do. I’m looking forward to the match and facing Tim’s team in Sydney,’ Ronaldinho said in a statement ahead of his visit Down Under.

The exhibition match will be a rare opportunity for Australian fans to see one of football’s biggest global stars in action.

 The landmark event is part of INCASA.DM’s ‘Joga Bonito Tour,’ a series of exclusive events and appearances presented in partnership with Ultra Football. 

Tickets are already on sale through Ticketek, starting at $80.

For Cahill, the match represents a significant homecoming, having retired from international football in 2018.
