Young & Restless actor Geoffrey Deuel dead at 81 after working with John Wayne and Peggy Lipton

Geoffrey Deuel died at the age of 81 on December 22 in Largo, Florida.

Deuel was best known for his roles as Dave Campbell in The Young and the Restless from 1973 until 1977, and Billy in the Kid in Chisum in 1970.

He was on the TV drama called Twelve O’Clock High in 1966. And he had TV roles in shows like The Monkees, The Invaders, Mod Squad, and Occasional Wife. 

News of the actor’s passing was shared in an obituary found on EverLoved.com. Then his wife Jacqueline Deuel confirmed his death to The Hollywood Reporter.

He passed while in hospice care after struggling with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Jacqueline wrote on Facebook as well. 

‘This is Jacqueline, Geoffrey’s wife,’ she wrote. ‘At midnight last night Geoffrey passed away and is with Peter. God took my ‘knight in shining armor’ gently.’

His first big role was in 1970’s Chisum, where he starred as Billy ‘The Kid’ Bonney opposite John Wayne. 

He also starred in Terminal Island and The Chinese Caper in the 1970s.

Geoffrey, a New York native and graduate of University of South Florida, is survived by his wife Jacqueline and his younger sister Pamela.

Geoffrey’s younger brother was the late actor Peter Deuel.

He was known for his role as Hannibal Heyes in ABC’s Alias Smith and Jones.
