You’ll be right, mate! Laura Byrne and Brittany Hockley support axed co-host Mitch Churi as he exits Sydney’s KIIS FM studios

Laura Byrne and Brittany Hockley put on a brave face on Wednesday as they were spotted exiting KIIS FM’s North Sydney studios with their recently axed co-star Mitch Churi.

The radio presenters looked emotional as they embraced Mitch while walking him out of the studio one final time, shortly after the shock news broke he had been given his marching orders.

Laura wore a black tank paired with brown patterned pants. 

The 38-year-old accessorised with stylish sunglasses, gold earrings and a silver necklace and added a touch of colour to her outfit with a bright blue animal-themed bag.

Her jet-black hair was tied in a bun and she highlighted her natural beauty by going makeup-free for the outing. 

Meanwhile, Brittany, 37, looked effortlessly stylish in beige top paired with ripped denim shorts that showcased her long slender legs.

The upbeat presenter completed her look with white loafers and accessorised with slick aviator sunglasses.

She had a brown designer bag slung around her arms and allowed her brunette locks to hang freely around her shoulders.

The pair became emotional as they hugged Mitch on the street and bid farewell to their long-time male colleague, who was informed his contract was not being renewed. 

At one point, Brittany was seen trying to comfort Mitch as she wrapped her arm around him, while he spoke to her and Laura.

It looked like an emotional farewell for the bubbly presenter, whose shock axing has also left Laura and Brittany’s future at the network in doubt. 

It follows reports that KIIS FM is reeling this week as the major star has reportedly been given marching orders. 

Churi will finish up at the end of the year, the Daily Telegraph claimed on Tuesday. 

He has hosted The Night Show with Mitch Churi since 2019, and co-hosts The Pick Up with Laura and Brittany. 

The decision was made for ‘financial reasons’ the paper claims, and Mitch, who has not been on the air since Thursday, was given the bad news on Tuesday. 

‘Mitch is shattered and completely blindsided,’ the publication quoted a ‘colleague’ as saying. 

The news is said to have ‘shocked’ KIIS star Kyle Sandilands, and left the future of Hockley and Byrne’s show in doubt.
