The two trainers were enjoying themselves after the most stressful week of the year. Mullins had more winners than anybody across four days, but Henderson had to deal with the shock defeats of Constitution Hill and Jonbon

Top trainers Willie Mullins and Nicky Henderson signed off at the Cheltenham Festival by belting out a karaoke hit together.

Taking the mic with Prestbury Park in the background, the pair joined forces to sing ‘We Are The Champions’ by Queen.

An online clip showed them sharing the words of the famous tune after racing on Gold Cup day as fans nearby join in and cheer their jolly performance.

One woman can be heard to say ‘that’s hilarious’ while others have called it ‘brilliant’ and ‘wonderful’ in comments online.

Earlier on Friday, Mullins had witnessed Galopin Des Champs run a brave race in his pursuit to join hat-trick hero Best Mate and three other horses in the 101-year history of the Gold Cup.

But the stayer did not have the final speed of Inothewayuthinkin, whose trainer Gavin Cromwell had 12 horses when he first linked up with the winner’s owner JP McManus.

Although it was an achievement Mullins longed for the most, the Irishman still matched his personal best of 10 winners across four days and was crowned top trainer for a 12th time.

Henderson meanwhile had more of a dramatic week, after a number of his horses missed last year’s fixture due to a stable bug.

Constitution Hill was the 1-2 favourite to regain his 2023 Champion Hurdle crown, but he came down at the fourth last obstacle when the race was still to develop.

In a renewal dubbed the craziest ever, another former champ State Man departed at the final flight with victory in sight, with benefiting heroine Golden Ace fortunate to avoid a tumble herself during the incidents.

Then fellow Henderson trainee Jonbon -5-6 to land the Champion Chase – made a shocking ninth fence blunder which cost him all chance of success.

However the Seven Barrows handler was buoyed by Jango Baie’s late charge for the Arkle after reaching in-running odds of 300-1, plus a one-two in the Pertemps Final with Doddiethegreat and Jeriko Du Reponet.

Despite their contrasting fortunes, Henderson and Mullins were both keen to let off steam after months of build-up at a high pressure event.

“Great to see them enjoying themselves they have very stressful jobs and responsibility,” one person wrote after watching their duet.

Another said: “The boy band we never knew we needed!”

While a third added: “Well that’s really brought a smile to my face today, great to see the fun side of both men. Brilliant.”
