Today show host Justin Sylvester criticizes Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus’ romance announcement

Many were stunned on Easter Sunday when actress Elizabeth Hurley revealed new new relationship with singer Billy Ray Cyrus, which led to a wild theory.

Now Today show host Justin Sylvester has weighed in and criticized the announcement. 

The 38-year-old TV host was not pleased with Hurley, 59, for using the Easter holiday to launch her relationship, scolding the celeb by saying, ‘Easter is the Lord’s day, OK? Jesus said you can have 363 days, I just need two, Easter and Christmas.’

‘But Elizabeth Hurley did not get the memo, because she used Easter to hard launch her new relationship, and you will not believe with who,’ he said, before revealing the snap of Hurley and Cyrus.

Sylvester didn’t stop there, even going so far as to blame Nicole Kidman for the relationship starting in the first place, which stunned his co-host Jenna Bush Hager.

Sylvester didn’t stop there, even going so far as to blame Nicole Kidman for the relationship starting in the first place, which stunned his co-host Jenna Bush Hager 

‘I blame Nicole Kidman, and the reason why I’m blaming Nicole Kidman because back in the day, actors dated actors,’ Sylvester began.

‘Sometimes they dated rock stars, but they never dated country musicians. 

‘Nicole Kidman went to Nashville and found the Holy Grail,’ Sylvester continued, referring to her marriage to Keith Urban, who tied the knot in 2006.

Sylvester’s theory fails to recognize Renee Zellweger marrying Kenny Chesney in 2005, a year before Kidman and Urban tied the knot, and Julia Roberts marrying Lyle Lovett in 1993, three years after her breakthrough role in 1990’s Pretty Woman. 

‘She found herself a country man who was simple, he just wanted bourbon, he wanted to be on a tractor, he wanted to watch a movie, and she was like, “Keith, get over here,”‘ Sylvester surmised.

He added that Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton was also somehow influenced by Nicole and Keith. 

‘I think Elizabeth Hurley has dated actors, she’s dated rock stars and she is looking for a simpler life, and who better to give you that than Achy Breaky Heart?’ he said.

A stunned Hager responded, ‘You’ve left me speechless,’ as Sylvester said he should have known this was happening, apologizing because he was, ‘off celebrating the Lord.’

He also shared that Hurley posted a bikini video from the Maldives on her Instagram earlier this month, ‘and she was using a Billy Ray Cyrus song in the background.’

A new report from The Sun also claims that Hurley and Cyrus’ relationship was sparked after he reached out to her for guidance after his split with singer Firerose in August.

‘There has always been a spark, but he reached out again last year when his short-lived third marriage ended. He has had a really hard time, but she has been there helping him turn things around,’ the source said.

‘Liz has been really great for him, but her friends are cautious because of what’s been said in the past about him. She insists he has turned a corner and is a changed man,’ the source stated.

‘Liz has been encouraging [Billy Ray] to mend his fractured relationship with his daughter Miley, as well as his other children. Her closeness with (her son) Damian is inspiring,’ the source added.
