This actor has worked with Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth but now looks unrecognizable – who is he?

An actor known for starring in beloved 2000s films and an animated franchise looked unrecognizable while stepping out for a stroll in Los Angeles on Thursday. 

The comedian has garnered a number of accolades during his career thus far – such as an Emmy Award. 

The star is also a lead vocalist for a band that was formed back in 1994 – which has raked in two Grammy nominations, winning one in 2015. 

He has taken on roles in a variety of films alongside A-list stars including Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Jim Carrey, Joan Cusack, Cate Blanchett as well as Dwayne Johnson and Jude Law.

It is actor and comedian, Jack Black, 55.

He rose to fame after appearing in films such as as Shallow Hal (2001), School Of Rock (2003), Nacho Libre (2006), The Holiday (2006) and the Kung Fu Panda franchise which began in 2008. 

Jack dressed down in a colorful ensemble as he stepped out for a relaxing stroll in the Los Feliz neighborhood of L.A. 

The star opted for a short-sleeved, blue shirt that had an orange bird with wings printed on the front. 

He additionally slipped into a pair of black shorts with green flames towards the hem. 

For a finishing touch to the outfit, Black donned a pair of white ankle socks and black shoes while also adding a dark navy hat on top of his head. 

The Hollywood actor sported a pair of shades to protect his eyes from the warm, California sunshine and carried a backpack over his shoulders.   

During an interview with People last year, Jack described his ‘perfect day’ when he is not busy in front of the camera or on stage.

‘Perfect day includes a long walk or a good frisbee session at the park. I gotta get a little cardio, gotta get the heart pumping.’ 

He added, ‘Obviously, a delicious meal – maybe an Indian meal, like a chicken korma with some mother-lovin’ garlic naan.’ 

The star then jokingly told the outlet, ‘And a perfect number two; a one-wiper. That’s it. That’s your perfect day.’ 

In 2006, Black tied the knot with Tanya Haden – and the couple share two sons: Samuel, 18, and Thomas, 16.

Jack also enjoys, ‘Spending time with the family,’ which he labeled as ‘the best.’

‘And it’s a luxury that I rediscovered over pandemic times, because we got to hang out all the time. And now that I’m back to work on the set of a movie, I really miss them. And I’m looking forward to being done.’ 

‘But also, watching my kids grow up and realizing, “Oh my God. They’re going to move out soon. I got to enjoy this while it lasts.”‘ 

Black has been keeping busy, and recently starred in the sci-fi comedy, Borderlands, with Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Ariana Greenblatt and Jamie Lee Curtis. 

Jack is also known for voicing the character of Po in the Kung Fu Panda franchise opposite Angelina Jolie – and the fourth installment was released earlier this year in March (seen above) 

However, the film notably bombed at the box office and raked in $33 million on a budget of around $110-$120 million. 

Jack also voiced the character of Po in Kung Fu Panda 4 – which premiered earlier this year in March.

The animated movie was a success in the box office and garnered $549.2 million in the box office on a budget of $85 million. 

He has also been cast in the upcoming animated project, A Minecraft Movie, which is based on the 2011 game of the same name. 

The star will voice the character of Steve in the film – which is set to hit theaters next year in April 2025. 

Other actors that were cast in the movie include Jason Momoa, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers and also Jennifer Coolidge. 

Along with working on a number of movies, Black is also known for stepping onto the stage as part of the rock duo, Tenacious D. The group was formed in 1994 and consists of Jack and Kyle Gass. 

Earlier this year, the band canceled the rest of its tour after Gass made a Donald Trump assassination joke at a concert.

When a cake was brought on stage in front of the audience in Australia for Kyle’s birthday, Gass was told to make a wish – and he then said out loud: ‘Don’t miss Trump next time.’

Kyle soon made a public apology in a statement over the comment, with Jack issuing his own and announcing the rest of the tour would not continue. 

However, while talking to Entertainment Tonight in August, Jack revealed the future of Tenacious D. 

‘I love Tenacious D…We had to take a break, but I love the D. Everybody takes a break sometimes. We’ll be back.’ 

Most recently, Jack traveled to Cleveland, Ohio over the past weekend to help induct Ozzy Osbourne into the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

The singer is known as the Prince of Darkness – and the lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath.

Jack recalled first purchasing Ozzy’s album titled, Blizzard Of Oz, and said, ‘It was the most metal thing I’d ever seen.’

‘And I didn’t even know what metal was. He was teaching me. I didn’t realize I was entering a whole new world of heavy metal music.’ 

During his speech, Osbourne could also be seen on the stage while sitting on a bat throne nearby amid his health woes.
