The Project’s Steve Price launches foul-mouthed spray over woman who paid $100 to have used sneakers delivered to nightclub because her heels hurt: ‘Over-privileged w**k’

Steve Price was not impressed by a news story presented on Monday’s episode of the Project. 

The 70-year-old commentator launched a foul-mouthed spray when he heard that a young woman had paid $100 to have sneakers delivered to Ivy nightclub in Sydney just because her heels were hurting her feet.  

‘A Sydney woman’s gone viral after using Airtasker to overcome painful high heels’ co-host Georgie Tunny explained. 

 ‘At 1am she offered to may 100 bucks to anyone who would bring sneakers to the club she was at’ she continued. 

‘Someone came through, and her followers applauded her, calling it genius hack.’

Price crinkled his face in disgust and let loose, mincing no words as he shared his opinion.

‘Don’t be stupid. That’s the most ridiculous, over-privileged w**ky thing I’ve heard of’ he said. 

‘That woman has too much money.  She got secondhand smelly sneakers’ Steve added.

Georgie however said that in her clubbing days, she would absolutely have paid that to spare her feet. 

However, the journalist said that she does not wear heels at all while going out these days.  

Steve celebrated his 70th birthday with viewers of The Project in January. 

However, the shock jock’s celebrations were upstaged by his mother Margo.

Joining the studio audience to watch as The Project paid tribute to Steve’s 15 years on the show, his proud mum looked decades younger than her 90 years.

‘I think I speak for the entire nation Pricey when I say she looks younger than you,’ his co-host Waleed Aly joked.

‘Don’t be stupid. That’s the most ridiculous, over-privileged w**ky thing I’ve heard of’ he said. ‘That woman has too much money. She got secondhand smelly sneakers’ 

Price, who introduced viewers to his mother as ’90 years young’, looked teary after The Project showed a series of clips celebrating his decade and a half on Channel 10’s panel show.  

During the segment, Margo paid her own tribute to her media veteran son, who has enjoyed a career spanning over four decades. 

‘He’s a very generous person, different to what you see here on camera,’ she said, before co-host Sarah Harris joked: ‘So he wasn’t grumpy as a toddler?’ 

‘No, no, always been wonderful,’ Margo responded.

At one point in the segment Price thank the show’s cast and crew.

‘I want to say one serious thing about it – I’ve been here 15 years, and working with the young people on The Project, particularly behind the scenes, but also you three,’ he said referring to his co-hosts. 

‘And all of the ones that have come before you… But it makes me feel young, so I don’t feel 70 at all, I feel about 55.’

Fans took to The Project’s social media to wish Price a happy birthday, with many gushing his mother’s appearance on the show.

One more fan added: ‘Happy birthday Pricey. Agree with everyone, what a stunner his mum is!’
