Sunrise host Natalie Barr has give fans a rare insight into her private family life.
The TV star, 56, opened up about feeling heartbroken after both her sons Lachlan, 23 and Hunter, 19, moved out of home.
She is now an empty nester and lives in Mosman with her film editor husband Andrew Thompson.
‘It sort of sneaks up on you because you spend all these years where your main focus is those kids,’ she told The Daily Telegraph.
‘Some days you barely remember how you got through and then suddenly somehow overnight, it ends.
‘I was shocked about how sad it was. I spent all last year being sad.’

Natalie’s admission comes just months after she was called out by viewers after she said she was concerned about her adult sons buying a home amid Australia’s housing crisis.
‘I’m in the lucky position I got to buy mine (house) when they were cheaper years ago but I don’t know how my kids are going to buy one,’ she said on Sunrise in October.
However, many pointed out the fact the Sunrise host was reportedly on a salary of more than $1million, putting her in a much better position to financially support her children than ordinary Aussies.
‘Thoughts and prayers to Nat Barr,’ one joked.
‘She makes enough money to buy one for them,’ another said.
‘Check your privilege, Nat,’ a third added.
Another called Barr out of touch.
Natalie has never revealed her exact salary, though Daily Mail Australia understands she earns upwards of $1million a year.

She and her family live in Mosman, one of Australia’s most expensive suburbs.
They sold their four-bedroom Federation home in the same suburb for $3.6million in January, 2019.
Natalie is understood to be renting another property just 700m away now.
Natalie’s former co-host, David Koch, was reportedly earning over $1.5million a year despite only working four days a week on Sunrise.
