Sunrise fans notice bizarre detail with popular breakfast show star as they make an anticipated return to the program

Eagle-eyed Sunrise viewers have spotted a strange detail about one of its stars who made a welcome return to the screen this week.

The ever-popular Sunrise Cash Cow was back in the studio on Monday, offering viewers the chance to win $2000 daily.

While host Matt Shirvington joked that the beloved breakfast show fixture had been on maternity leave, some viewers speculated that the time off may have been for cosmetic reasons.

On the MediaSpy forum, one viewer commented on a series of images featuring the celebrity bovine, suggesting that the Cash Cow’s head looked significantly different from previous appearances.

‘Looks like she’s got a new head but still has that weirdly shaped black spot on her chest,’ they commented.

Another commenter suggested that it was the Cash Cow’s body, rather than her head, that received special attention during the off-season.

‘Maybe her body only needed dry cleaning,’ they joked.

Back in 2024, viewers criticised Sunrise over providing minimal details on how to enter the Cash Cow competition.

A MediaSpy forum member pointed out the giveaway’s terms and conditions, which read: ‘A minimum of $5,000.00 or the jackpot amount that is available on the day of call if the Winner answers their telephone when called as set out in clause 5.3.

‘If the Winner does not answer the call as set out in clause 5.3, they will receive a $100.00 consolation prize (“Consolation Prize”), and the money will jackpot to the next call.’

The jackpot amount will be in $5,000 increments, and the total prize pool value is up to a maximum of $20,400.

One user called out the program for failing to mention the competition’s fine print on air, saying it ‘hasn’t been the best promotion of the Cash Cow’.

‘Detail is not Seven’s strong suit,’ another member wrote. ‘Essentially they just want people to enter and not think about the fine print.

‘Judging by the Facebook comments today, some people are turned off by how much info they have to input to enter.’

‘I would’ve given up looking for the link if I was interested in entering,’ someone replied. ‘Initially I found it embedded in an article about the Cash Cow returning.’

One added: ‘Oh it’s a mess. Once upon a time it would be the first thing to hit you when you went to the Sunrise website.’

Entry details are now accessible via Channel Seven’s website and are listed at the top of the Sunrise homepage.

Cash Cow previously offered giveaways to viewers, with a chance to win as much as $10,000. This was normally done by viewers finding a code word and entering the competition via SMS.

The move to a free online form was made so that participants avoid SMS costs.

‘We know it’s been a big change for the audience of Australia’s #1 brekky program to not have to pay to enter via text. This new free form is available to anyone,’ a Seven spokesperson tells Daily Mail Australia at the time.

‘It was the most visited page today and has been moved to the top spot so no one can miss it.’

The Cash Cow’s 2025 return comes after Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson  slammed host Natalie Barr for suggesting  a radio competition they were running was potentially dangerous,

'Looks like she's got a new head but still has that weirdly shaped black spot on her chest,' someone commented

The contest, a promotion for his Kyle and Jackie O radio show dubbed the $100k Ball Drop, saw 200 balls dropped from a helicopter over Elsternwick Park Tennis Centre in Melbourne in January.

‘Won’t the blades, won’t the wind of the blades just go ‘whoop’?’ asked Barr, referring to the balls being thrown off trajectory.

‘If nothing else, it’s very interesting to watch,’ co-host Matt Shirvington added.

After Kyle and co-star Jackie O Henderson played the Sunrise exchange on air, Jackie claimed the breakfast show was hoping something would go wrong.

‘We’ve got TV covering this and they’re only covering this because they want a disaster to happen,’ she said.

‘How thorough have we been with this, is my question.’

‘It was always foam balls,’ Kyle added. ‘We’re throwing foam balls out of a helicopter, not grenades.’
