Basketball star Kristian Doolittle has opened up on how he stays shredded with the American small forward making an eye-raising confession about his training regime.
The 27-year-old, who is currently turning out for the Perth Wildcats, stands at a towering 6ft 7in tall.
He has always had a strong and powerful figure and at the age of 12, the Oklahoma-born basketball star had size 17 shoes.
During his youth, Doolittle would help his grandfather work around their backyard, lifting and carrying heavy items which helped him build muscle and strength from a young age.
But rather bizarrely, the Oklahoma University graduate, admits he can gain muscle a lot quicker than other people but chooses not to lift weights.
In fact, he admitted that should he start lifting weights again, he would struggle to manage his physique adding that he still maintains his strength through his current fitness plan.

‘I wouldn’t even look like a basketball player any more,’ the US basketball star said to The West Australian’s The Dribble Podcast when asked what would happen if he started lifting weights again.
But the American admitted that he no longer lifts weights and is instead on a new training programme in which he places a greater emphasis on his diet and fitness, in order to attune himself to the rigours of the NBL.
‘I don’t lift any more,’ he added. ‘I’ve been able to coordinate with our strength program to where they’ve got me in a routine that’s beneficial to me and what my body needs.
‘As long as I check those boxes, then I’m good.
‘I’ve been roughly this size since I was in high school. I just weigh a little bit more now. But that’s just because I’m not 18 any more. For the most part, this is who I’ve been.
‘I just know whenever I lift my body will just go with it. I’ve found something that works for me and it’s been good.
‘I don’t know why I’m so strong. I just am.’

Doolittle joined Perth in 2023 and would go on to become a key presence on the court for the Wildcats making 21 appearances last season amassing a field goal percentage of 49.
He has returned to again star for the Wildcats in 2025 and has again been impressive.
But part of his great athleticism comes down to his training and nutrition plans, with Doolittle admitting that eating well has become a big part of how he operates.
‘I started eating better,’ he said.
‘I’ve always eaten fairly healthy. But sometimes I’ll go home and get some fast food here and there. This year I have cut that down tremendously. I’m drinking more water.’
