Marseille forward Neal Maupay was sent off after getting two yellow cards in three minutes during his side’s 1-1 draw with Angers.
Maupay, who is on loan at Marseille from Everton with the French club having an obligation to buy him at the end of the deal, was initially cautioned in the 27th minute for pulling down Angers goalkeeper Yahia Fofana.
He was then dismissed just three minutes later after receiving another yellow card for a late challenge on midfielder Jean-Eudes Aholou.
Maupay was seen laughing as the referee brandished the red card.
Englishman Jonathan Rowe, who is on loan from Norwich, put Marseille ahead in the 51st minute, with Farid El Melali equalising three minutes later for Angers.

Maupay responded after fans abused Everton players at a train station following their 4-0 defeat to Tottenham in August.
He wrote on X: ‘Imagine another job where it’s normalised to get abuse like this. Hanging around at a train station to scream at men who are trying their best…’
