Mick Jagger’s ex Luciana Gimenez rushed to hospital for emergency surgery following a week of partying at the Rio de Janeiro Carnival

Sir Mick Jagger’s ex-lover and mother of his son, Lucas, has revealed she’s undergone emergency surgery following a week of hard partying at the Rio de Janeiro Carnival in her home country, Brazil.

Model and TV presenter Luciana Giminez, who remains very close to the Rolling Stone, with whom she has 25-year-old son Lucas, shared the news on Friday.

‘This week I had to undergo an emergency surgical procedure but everything is fine and I’m already recovering properly,’ she said.

Adding: ‘At these times we know how loved, precious and cherished we are. I’m receiving a lot of affection!’

Luciana, 55, who became pregnant with Mick’s child while he was unofficially married to Texan supermodel Jerry Hall, shared online the doctor’s note after her hospital visit in Brazil.

‘Luciana underwent emergency surgery to correct a herniated cervical disc,’ it read. ‘The procedure was performed by Dr. Alberto Gotfryd’s team at the Albert Einstein Israelite Hospital and was successful.’

She also shared photos on social media of herself in the hospital bed with a neck brace on.

‘I think I enjoyed Carnival so much that now I had to make up for it – but that’s part of it,’ admitted Luciana, who will now undergo rest and physiotherapy to get her back on track.

She added: ‘There are times when we need to look after ourselves and receive the right treatment. I am in the hands of a great medical team. The important thing is that I’ll be back soon and full of energy.’

Speaking of her close bond with Mick, 81, Luciana has said: ‘Lucas and Mick are really close and Mick is a wonderful dad. 

‘I like to raise my child with his dad, with his help and advice. He’s a very wise man and he is passionate about his kids.  He’s always been there and that has been a really great experience.’

It comes just after Luciana came up with an ingenius way to defy ageing – by pretending you’re much younger. 

The Brazialian television host turned 55 in November and certainly celebrated in style.

Luciana marked the occasion with a party featuring balloons and candles, emblazoned with the number 30 – rather than her actual age.

 She looked incredible during the evening in a semi-sheer black lace dress, which showcased her phenomenal physique.

The former model wore her highlighted brunette locks in soft curls and opted for a glamorous coat of make-up, including a bronze smokey eye.

Luciana used to perform as ‘queen of drums’ for The Rolling Stones more than a decade ago.

She famously had an affair with Mick, 79, behind his then partner Jerry Hall’s back – resulting in the birth of their son Lucas in 1999.

Luciana discovered that she was pregnant with Mick’s child in 1998 after an eight-month affair, which resulted in Jerry and Mick’s 22-year relationship breakdown.

In 1999 Luciana was described as ‘the straw that broke the camel’s back’ by Jerry during her split from Mick.

Luciana previously said of model Jerry: ‘I don’t know how she feels about me, but I understand that I probably hurt her.’

Despite the fact that Mick insisted upon a paternity test when Lucas was born, she has always remained on good terms with the man she calls ‘an excellent father’ to their child.

Mick paid all of Lucas’s school fees and seems to have been generous and kind with his time, too — regularly spending holidays with him.

For her part, Luciana is even friends with Jagger’s current love, Melanie Hamrick, the 33-year-old American ballerina whom he started dating in 2014.

She was travelling on the slopes at ‘high speed’ when she took a tumble and fractured her leg in four places, it has been confirmed.

Her representatives said in a statement: ‘Luciana Gimenez had an accident while skiing in Aspen, in the United States, last Saturday afternoon.

‘Luciana was enjoying her holidays with her children, Lucas and Lorenzo, and was skiing at a high speed on a red route. The accident happened as she was trying to brake.

‘The presenter received emergency care on the ski slope and, subsequently, was taken by ambulance to the local hospital.

‘After reporting severe pain, she underwent tests that confirmed fractures in four different places on her leg, therefore, doctors decided that she needed an emergency surgery, which was very successful.’

Outlining her hopes to leave home on Monday, the statement added: ‘Luciana is already in the recovery room, accompanied by her eldest son, Lucas. Her discharge is scheduled for Monday.’

Luciana’s boyfriend, entrepreneur Renato Breia, has expressed his belief his partner will soon be ‘dancing again’ following her surgery.

He took to his Instagram Story to share a video of them on a hot day outside, in which Luciana danced and sang while wearing a bikini.

He wrote in Portuguese along with a praying hands emoji: ‘It’s going to be ok! Jajá will be dancing for us again.’
