Stone Temple Pilots hit NEX in Newcastle last night, and man, they did not disappoint. Dean and Robert DeLeo, along with drummer Eric Kretz, were locked in tight, and Jeff Gutt—who’s been fronting the band since 2017—absolutely owned it. His energy was off the charts, and he brought the perfect mix of grit and emotion to every song. You could tell the crowd was loving it, singing along and soaking up every moment.
The setlist was stacked with gems, from the haunting Still Remains and Pretty Penny to the always-awesome Big Empty. But the real magic happened when they tore into fan favorites like Army Ants and the massive Wicked Garden. And of course, the place went wild for the classics—Plush, Crackerman, Dead and Bloated—all leading up to a killer closer with Sex Type Thing.
Wolfmother kicked things off in style, bringing their signature energy and setting the stage for an epic night of rock ‘n’ roll.
