Live: NRL grand final day kicks off with Sharks and Roosters facing off for women’s premiership

We have our first result for the day: Norths Devils are interstate champions!

Norths Devils have ended eight years of NSW dominance in the NRL State Championship, beating Newtown 20-18 thanks to a match-winning try from back rower Oryn Keeley.

Keeley got a second-half double as the Queensland Cup champs took down the Jets, who just kept shooting themselves in the foot with errors in the second half.

The locals have swept this contest ever since the Dragons beat Burleigh in the third game back in 2016.

PNG’s Jeremiah Simbiken was immense in the back row for Norths, there were a couple of stunning try-savers and plenty of brilliant ball-playing, but none of it holds a candle to this length-of-the-field team effort from the Jets capped by Samuel Stonestreet, who finished with a hat-trick.
