Kyle Walker’s AC Milan crash OUT of the Champions League following bizarre red card – as the England star suffers aggregate defeat

Kyle Walker’s AC Milan crashed out of the Champions League following a 2-1 aggregate defeat by Feyenoord on Wednesday.

Milan were contesting the play-off round at the San Siro, still hopeful of progressing to the last-16 of the competition despite trailing 1-0 on aggregate from the first leg a week ago.

Things got off to the perfect start when Santiago Gimenez gave the hosts the lead in the very first minute of the game, and Milan found themselves as favourites given the tie was all square and they had home advantage.

But that turned on its head when Theo Hernandes was sent off in the 51st minute – a second yellow card branded for simulation – putting the Italian suddenly up against it and having to play at least nearly 40 minutes, plus potentially extra time, with 10 men.

Walker had started the game at right back and played the full 90 minutes, but was unable to help his side to victory, with Julian Carranza netting the winner on 73 minutes.

The result meant the Dutch outfit – formerly managed by Liverpool boss Arne Slot – progressed to the final 16 of the competition, with the full time whistle triggering ecstatic scenes in the away dugout.

Walker is set to move into a luxury £10,000 per week apartment in Milan while his wife Annie Kilner remains in England with their four children, MailOnline can reveal.

Walker, 34 who joined AC Milan last month, has opted to live in a lavish three-bedroom apartment which is located in a luxury residential area called City Life.

The England international is getting the keys to his new home at the end of this month and while Annie has agreed to visit with their children, the couple have no plans to move into a family home together in Milan for the time being.

A source told MailOnline: ‘Their marriage is still very rocky and while it’s better than before, there are still a lot of things to work out. Kyle’s move was also quite sudden so it’s not that easy for Annie to just relocate with the kids to another country.

‘There are schools to consider and finding a house that is big enough for them all. But that’s still a long way off. For now, Kyle will be in Italy and Annie at their home in the UK and they’ll see how things go.’

The source added: ‘Kyle is loving both life and his football again. He’s like a new man in Milan and has never been happier. Perhaps he’s just relieved to put all his domestic troubles behind him by being out of England. The fact that he wants to live in an apartment probably tells you that he just wants some time on his own.’

Annie, 33 has yet to confirm to Walker if she is prepared to move to Italy permanently at some point in the future with relations between the two said to be strained.

But the WAG flew to Milan with the couple’s four sons to watch Walker make his debut for AC Milan. They even spent some family time together, enjoying local hotspots and getting to know the area.
