Kelly Clarkson missing AGAIN from her show despite assurances she’d be back – as mystery deepens over her absence

Kelly Clarkson was still missing in action on Thursday as model Molly Sims was drafted in as a replacement for the star. 

There’s been fierce fan concern for Clarkson, 42, and no official word from her on social about why she has been absent from her show for over a week. 

There has been reports that she is dealing with a personal matter, but her absence has been causing whispers and concerns from fans.

Sims, who was previously announced as a guest host for two episodes this week, stepped in to host for the Thursday program of The Kelly Clarkson Show. She will also be filling in for the March 14th episode.

TMZ reported Wednesday that Kelly was set to return to the studio and on air Thursday, however Sims, 51, ended up serving as host for the March 13 episode. 

Her absence sparked several concerned fans to inquire about Clarkson, a major and beloved player in daytime TV,  in the comments section, with one user writing ‘Is kelly okay???’

Clarkson has had a number of stars serve as guest host for the last few weeks amid her mysterious absence

‘Miss Kelly,’ two others wrote. 

The show teased her appearance on their Instagram with photos of her with celebrity guests Patrick Schwarzenegger, 31, and Suits LA star Bryan Greenberg, 46.

A video posted to the program’s Instagram also showed Sims introducing herself to the audience.  

‘Welcome to the Kelly Clarkson Show! I’m Molly Sims, your intrepid guide through the next two days. Now, some of you know me from House of Style or the show Las Vegas or from when I dominated Who Wants to Be A Millionaire and won some much needed money for ovarian cancer,’ she began in her opening segment.

Sims promoted her skincare line YSE Beauty, her new podcast Lipstick on the Rim, and the Netflix film she produced, Kinda Pregnant. 

She also gave a shout-out to the first responders who stepped up during the devastating LA fires in January.  

‘It’s been a tough couple of months. Like many in the Los Angeles area, we had to evacuate when the fires tore through our community. While I have thanked the first responders online and in person, I want to take the chance when I have this platform to say thank you. Thank you, thank you from everyone. Thank you.’

Sims is the final guest host of the week, which has seen Brooke Shields and Willie Geist fill in for the A Moment Like This singer.

The fashion icon will be returning for the March 14th episode to speak with guests Amanda Seyfried and Nicholas Pinnock.

Clarkson, 42, has been notably missing from The Kelly Clarkson Show since early last week, but so far neither she nor the show have bothered to explain the reason for her absence to viewers.

But her absence really began late last month, when Roy Wood Jr. first came in  as a guest host before she made a brief return.  

Sources described as having direct knowledge of the matter told TMZ on Wednesday that Kelly has been off the air because she’s dealing with a personal matter.

The publication noted that Clarkson was set to return to the show and air on Thursday, March 13, however the teaser currently only shows Sims serving as host. 

Kelly is scheduled to return next week, but several celebrities will still be filling in as guest host for two episodes, according to Page Six.

Kal Penn will host Monday’s episode, Andy Cohen will take over the Wednesday show, and Clarkson is set to host the Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday shows, Page Six reports, citing the show’s weekly listing.  

So far, there aren’t details on what issue Kelly was attending to, though she may update her fans upon her return considering the level of concern for her they displayed on social media.

Simu Liu served as an impromptu guest host on March 3, admitting he only found out about the gig ‘five minutes’ before he was supposed to go on.

Although Kelly had to have Simu fill in for her that day, she did manage to return for her shows on the following two days.

The Marvel star was only supposed to be a guest that day, but he proved to be a good sport when the show needed a quick fill-in.

‘Kelly actually isn’t able to make it today,’ he announced to the studio audience. ‘We are sending her our very best, and here’s the thing –– I did not know that I was doing this until about five minutes ago when I arrived here to promote my new movie, Last Breath.’

However, aside from her two-day return last week, Kelly has been missing from her show since February 27.

Amid the absences, some fans had wondered if the American Idol star might be dealing with health issues, but the sources indicated that she was fine.

In addition to Liu, the Daily Show’s Roy Wood Jr. covered for Kelly on February 28 and then again on March 6.
