Along with Titanic, Leonardo and Kate also starred together in the 2008 drama Revolutionary Road, based on Richard Yates’ novel.

Kate previously described how she and Leonardo ‘clicked immediately’ on the set of Titantic.

The actress began her interview by speaking about how Leonardo’s energetic demeanor quickly endeared him to Titanic’s cast and crew.

She recalled via Entertainment Tonight: ‘He was this kind of mess of long, skinny, uncoordinated limbs. And he was just very free with himself, and he had this effervescent energy that was really magnetic.’

The Academy Award-winning actress recalled thinking: ‘”Oh, this is going to be fun. We’re definitely gonna get along.” And we just really did. We just really did.’

The Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind actress then spoke about how she found working with DiCaprio to have felt completely natural.

‘Once I started working with Leo, we were able to kind of find our own rhythm. And it’s amazing to kind of look back and think about it all over again,’ she recalled.

Kate also revealed that she still remained in close contact with the star of The Wolf Of Wall Street.

‘We connected on so many levels. That sense of focus on the craft and still really caring deeply about that to this day,’ she said.

She added: ‘We’ll always just make that call right away. There’s no like, “Hang on, I’ll call you tomorrow.” It’s instant. And that’s actually really something.’

Titanic was centered on a teenager from a wealthy family who establishes a relationship with a working-class passenger on the passenger liner’s tragic voyage.

In addition to Kate and Leonardo, the movie also starred performers such as Billy Zane, Kathy Bates and Bill Paxton.

The feature became an instant hit with critics, and it currently holds a rating of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Titanic also grossed nearly $2 billion during its initial period of release, although it has since passed that mark after being rereleased on several occasions.

The movie also held the distinction of being the highest-grossing film of all time for several years, although it was ultimately passed by the 2009 science fiction film Avatar, which was also directed by Cameron.

Titanic was put up for a total of 14 Academy Awards and won 11, including Best Picture.
