Is this the most awkward Married At First Sight wedding yet? Adrian leaves bride Awhina rattled – and her wedding party speechless – with insensitive joke: ‘I didn’t like it’

It was an eventful wedding day for Married At First Sight’s Adrian Araouzou and Awhina Rutene, but an ill-timed joke from the groom left the bride feeling uneasy.

During their vows, Awhina was completely smitten with her groom, admitting that he was ‘too hot’ for her as she was struggling to maintain eye contact.

The pair quickly discovered they shared a rare bond — both are twins, adding an unexpected twist to their match.

But just as the connection seemed to be off to a promising start, Adrian’s comment about having a ‘six-month-old’ left Awhina visibly rattled.

In a playful moment during his vows, Adrian casually dropped, ‘Also, you should know I’m not a one-man package deal… I have a six-month-old.’

Awhina’s expression quickly shifted to shock before Adrian clarified he was talking about his dog, an ‘Aussie shepherd.’

The joke, however, didn’t land well with Awhina, a proud mother to a six-year-old son, who later admitted she felt ‘a little bit taken aback’ by Adrian’s comment.

‘I didn’t like when he said, “Don’t worry, don’t worry, I haven’t got a kid,”‘ she shared in a confessional.

‘That kind of made me go… I wasn’t worried you had a kid, mate. Like, if you had a kid— great, great. We on.’

Her initial enthusiasm for Adrian was momentarily clouded by doubts about whether he was truly ready for a family.

‘Now I’m a bit scared to have that conversation,’ she confessed. 

‘Usually, I’m like, “You know what makes me more attractive? That I’m this big, beautiful mum.

‘Because that’s what I am. I’m a gorgeous mum, and I love my son,’ she continued. 

Despite her reservations, Awhina remained determined to be honest about her life as a mother, even if she feared it might change Adrian’s perception of her.

‘As much as I’m scared now, no, I’m going to have that conversation.’

It wasn’t long before social media lit up with comments about the cringeworthy moment. 

‘Adrian is 30yrs it shouldn’t come as a shock that a partner might come with a child,’ wrote on viewer.
