The former Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has been arrested for drink-driving after a road accident in Colombia, according to reports in his homeland. Photographs show the incident involved a vehicle and a motorcycle, the rider of which suffered injuries.
The Antioquia traffic and transportation section said: “Alfredo Jose Morelos Aviles, a forward for the Atlético Nacional club, was arrested. He was driving a pickup truck, causing a traffic accident while driving under the influence of alcohol (Grade 2), resulting in personal injuries to Sebastian Guillermo Davila Valderrama.”
Morelos scored 124 goals in six seasons with Rangers before leaving at the expiry of his contract in 2023. The 28-year-old initially moved to Santos in Brazil but returned to Colombia in a loan deal this summer.
