Andrew Garfield fans all have their fingers crossed that his upcoming appearance on Amelia Dimoldenberg’s Chicken Shop Date will end with a fully-fledged romance now that he is newly single.
It was revealed last week that the actor, 41, will finally be joining the 30-year-old journalist on her iconic YouTube series on Friday, over one year since their electric interaction on the Golden Globes red carpet in January 2023.
News of their highly anticipated reunion came as Andrew’s ex-girlfriend Kate Thomas, 42, confirmed on social media that they had quietly split ‘months ago’.
With that in mind, fans are hoping that Andrew’s Chicken Shop Date slot off the back of his break-up will be the perfect storm for a relationship to brew with Amelia – and they’ve flooded social media with dreams of a proposal and wedding bells.
Commenting on Instagram, one said: ‘I’m convinced this will be the last Chicken Shop Date since they are obviously meant for each other and will never date anyone else again.’

Fans have eagerly awaited Andrew and Amelia developments since their electric encounter at the Golden Globes in January 2023 when she interviewed him on the red carpet.
The pair had met before, hitting it off at the GQ Men of the Year awards in December 2022, where Andrew revealed that he’s a fan of Chicken Shop Date.

At the Golden Globes, she told the Spider-Man star: ‘We must stop meeting like this.’
Andrew replied: ‘I only ever want to see you’… before Amelia interrupted ‘What?’
‘I didn’t finish my sentence’, he continued. ‘I only ever want to see you in these kinds of situations.’
Amelia cheekily said she would want to see him in other situations as she invited him to her birthday party on 30th January.
Andrew enquired about Amelia’s star sign, to which she said she’s an Aquarius.
The actor replied: ‘If you have a sun sign that’s the same as the moon sign of someone else, it’s good.’
Asked why it would be an issue, he said: ‘I don’t think we should explore this.’
Amelia replied she ‘wasn’t even asking you to’ before saying ‘you’re obsessed with me’.
The actor told her: ‘That’s what I’m saying. I’m scared what it could turn into and I’m not ready for that,’ before she quipped back: ‘Oh ok, well I am.’
Over the weekend, Andrew’s ex Kate revealed on social media that they had ended their relationship.

While responding to Instagram user @felipe.reistavares, Kate wrote: ‘We broke up months ago but I’m sure he will be happy to know that he is loved.’
Four-time divorcée Kate – whose clients include Lena Dunham and Megan Mullally – had publicly spoken about her relationship with Andrew to The Sunday Times as well as on her podcast where she denied using magic spells to seduce him.
‘It’s not about the magic spells or manipulation,’ she said.
‘It has got nothing to do with how perfect their teeth are — thank you, Reddit — or whether they conform to conventional standards of beauty.
‘People that are really attractive are full of charisma because they are authentically themselves and confidently anchored in that. Magic takes time. It can’t happen overnight.’
It’s unclear how long two-time Oscar nominee Andrew dated Kate, but they were first pictured on a double date with Phoebe Bridgers and Bo Burnham at Zinqué Malibu back on March 31.
A source previously told US Weekly of their romance: ‘Things are fairly new between Andrew and Kate, but she’s down to earth and he feels very comfortable with her.
‘Andrew really appreciates the fact that Kate is very different from other women he’s dated. He thinks she has a great sense of humor and she’s easy to talk to.’
He is said to have previously romanced actress Shannon Woodward, two-time Oscar winner Emma Stone, actress Susie Abromeit, singer Rita Ora, model Christine Gabel, and model Alyssa Miller.
It’s thought Amelia is also single.
She has teased Andrew’s appearance on Chicken Shop Date on her social media profiles, and first announced it with a picture of them sat opposite each other in a fast-food joint.
Captioning her post, she said: ‘The one you’ve been waiting for… My date with Andrew Garfield is out next Friday :)’
In a second teaser, Amelia shared a 10-second snippet of a flirty interaction in which the pair greeted each other.
