As Demelza Poldark, she played the proudest of heroines. And in real life there’s no mistaking Eleanor Tomlinson’s pride and joy at becoming a mum.
The 32-year-old actress stepped out with the broadest of smiles as she pushed her baby along a busy shopping street in a designer pram that costs more than £1,000.
She and husband Will Owen, a 29-year-old former professional rugby player turned personal trainer, celebrated their new arrival earlier this month.
She announced their news on Instagram with a close-up photo of a tiny hand clutching her thumb and the caption: ‘Eleanor has had her baby.’
In the first picture since she became a mum, Ms Tomlinson looked positively glowing as she strolled through Bristol with the high-end iCandy Cerium pram, accompanied by her mum.

She is expected to be back on TV screens later this year in the latest adaptation of John Galsworthy’s Forsyte Saga novels, which are being made by British production company Mammoth Screen for US broadcaster PBS Masterpiece.
Set in London during the 1880s the drama follows the fortunes of the wealthy Forsyte family and explores themes familiar to Poldark fans such as love, loyalty, ambition and betrayal.
Partly filmed in Bristol last year, the show features Francesca Annis as formidable matriarch Ann, Stephen Moyer as her eldest son Jolyon and Danny Griffin as Jolyon’s son Jo. Ms Tomlinson plays Jo’s first love, a Soho dressmaker.
No announcement has yet been made about its UK debut.
