It comes after Delta shared  the poignant story behind a photograph of herself that has remained unseen for two decades.

Taken in 2004, the image shows the then-18-year-old star in London, promoting her second studio album, Mistaken Identity – a record deeply intertwined with her personal battle with cancer.

While the Australian singer-songwriter was set to embark on an exciting new chapter in her career at the time, her life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma.

Hodgkin lymphoma is a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system. Some of its common symptoms include swelling of lymph nodes in the neck, armpits or groin, fever, tiredness, night sweats, weight loss and tiredness.

The devastating news meant that her plans to perform and promote the album on a global stage had to be put on hold as she focused on her health.

Fast forward 20 years, Delta is now gearing up for a triumphant return to the spotlight, with a long-awaited tour to celebrate her journey and music.

The tour will kick off with an intimate performance at the Sydney Opera House on April 14, 2025, with an additional show announced for April 15 due to overwhelming demand.

To mark the milestone, Delta has shared this never-before-seen photograph from her archives – a candid moment captured during what she describes as one of the most challenging times in her life.

‘Mistaken Identity was an album born out of raw emotion,’ she told The Daily Telegraph.

‘It reflected the shadows and the light of my battle with cancer. Each track was deeply personal, and it was my way of connecting with others who were also navigating their own struggles.’

The album, released in November 2004, became a lifeline for fans as much as it was for Delta, resonating with listeners for its unflinching honesty.

‘Looking back, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for how people embraced the album during that time,’ she shared. ‘It taught me the incredible power of music to bring us together in our vulnerabilities.’

Audiences can meanwhile expect to experience Mistaken Identity like never before, as Delta revisits the album that shaped her journey and connected deeply with fans worldwide.

It comes after the singer, who rose to fame in her teens as Australia’s sweetheart, announced her new record label which she shares with fiancé Matt Copley.

‘It’s a new era, new world, with endless possibilities – so I created a new home for my music. Welcome to ATLED Records,’ Delta wrote in her post, with ‘ATLED’ being her name spelt backwards.

‘I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude towards the incredible community that has supported me for over two decades. But times have changed and so have I.’

Delta said it was important for her to have ‘ownership’ of her music.

‘Having ownership of my music in an industry that is constantly evolving is an incredible feeling and fuels my artistry and business ventures,’ she said.
