Finally, Judi unwraps a bright pink bedazzled dustban and brush to astonishment bafflement, staring straight down the camera lens with a look of utter dismay.
Closing out the video, a voiceover of the Belfast star can be heard saying: ‘Why not give a present that means something this Christmas?’ over photos of delighted children receiving personalised gifts.
The fun-filled clip serves to raise awareness for international disaster relief charity ShelterBox.
The charity specialises in emergency shelter and other essential household items for families whose homes have been damaged or destroyed by disaster, conflict or climate crisis.
People are able to purchase virtual gifts for those families affected, including life-saving items like shelters, thermal blankets and cooking sets.
ShelterBox is currently providing emergency shelter to those suffering in Gaza amid the conflict with Israel.
While they also are currently supporting displaced people across the world in countries including the Philippines, Lebanon, Mozambique, Somalia, Chad, Cameroon, and Yemen.
Speaking about the charity, Judi gushed: ‘That’s what I love about ShelterBox. Aid items like tents, thermal blankets, and water filters are tangible. They make a difference.’

She then emphasised the importance of the work that they do, saying: ‘The number of people [120 million] uprooted from their homes worldwide has never been higher and the need for emergency shelter has never been more urgent.’
Kirsty Alexander, Head of Supporter Engagement at ShelterBox said: ‘We’re incredibly lucky that Dame Judi has supported ShelterBox for many years, and was such a good sport in helping us make this little film.
‘It’s been a joy to work with her on a project that combines humour with a heartfelt message.’
It comes after Judi cast doubt over the future of her film career amid her battle with age-related macular degeneration of her eyes.
The veteran actress has not acted on the big screen since 2022’s Allelujah, limiting her screen appearances in the past few years to documentaries, where she appeared as herself.
And in May, she admitted that she has no future projects in the pipeline while struggling with her ailing sight.
According to the NHS, ‘age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a common condition that affects the middle part of your vision. It usually first affects people in their 50s and 60s’.
Asked if she has any plans for more acting jobs, Judi told a journalist at the Chelsea Flower show: ‘No, no, I can’t even see!’

But towards the end of 2022, she had refused to give up and insisted she wouldn’t be retiring anytime soon – despite admitting the condition even then was ‘bad’.
She told Louis Theorux on his BBC show: ‘I don’t want to retire. I’m not doing much at the moment because I can’t see. It’s bad.
‘I have a photographic memory so a person saying to me, ”This is your line…” I can do that .’
Around the same time, Judi revealed that while out for dinner with her partner David Mills, he had to cut up her food for her as she couldn’t see it on her plate.
‘He cut it up and handed something to me on a fork and that’s the way I ate it,’ she explained.
