John Bishop has shared a rare photo of his son Luke and penned an emotional message as he marked his 29th birthday.
The comedian, 58, took to Instagram on Wednesday to wish his son a happy birthday as he shared a current and throwback image.
Standing in their home, John could be seen giving Luke a big hug in a recent snap – with a picture of him holding his son as a baby layered over it.
John, who also shares sons Joe and Daniel with his wife of 32 years Melanie, shared his joy at being able to hug his son 29 years on from his birth.
He wrote: ‘Incredible to think I held @samplesizelukey in my arms as he enjoyed his first day in this world 29 years ago today. It fills my heart to do the same again.
‘On that day I could never have imagined how life would pan out and today I have no idea what the next 29 years hold, but if I can be there to hold him in my arms again on this day in 29 years it would be a dream.

‘Happy Birthday Luke my son, your Dad loves you ❤️.’
Last year, John wrote for his son’s 28th birthday: ‘Happy birthday to our son Luke – great seeing him with his mum and brothers with me looking up to them all to make the angle just right ❤️.’
John was praised back in 2018 when he gave an emotional speech about one of his sons while accepting a NatWest British LGBT Award.
The comedian was named Ally of the Year and moved the audience with his touching words at the London Marriott Hotel in Grosvenor Square.
He attended the event with his wife Melanie and sons Joe, Luke and Daniel, and was surprised when hosts Mel B and Duncan James handed him the award.
In his speech, he joked: ‘I was so pleased to be nominated.
‘I brought my whole family, my wife and my three sons who I love and I am massively proud of.
‘Like all parents we have problems with them. One of my sons has a tattoo on his ankle that was meant to be Africa but looks like Australia, one of my sons mumbles and one of my sons is a gay man.

‘I’ll be honest, there’s been loads of nights when me and my wife have sat up and worried and worried and worried.
‘What are we going to do if he doesn’t stop mumbling?’
