Collingwood premiership defender Brayden Maynard has escaped unhurt from his latest car crash and is expected to play in Saturday night’s clash with Port Adelaide at the MCG.
The Magpies confirmed Maynard was involved in a two-car accident in Brighton on Friday morning, marking his second car crash in the space of 14 months.
“Fortunately, neither Brayden nor the passengers in the other vehicle were hurt in the accident,” Collingwood’s general manager of football Charlie Gardiner said in a statement.
“Speaking with Brayden this morning, this was an unfortunate accident, but thankfully he and the other driver and passenger were okay.”
Maynard missed a training session in January, 2024, after being involved in a car crash on the Mornington Peninsula Freeway.
No one was injured in that crash.
Maynard has played 210 games since making his AFL debut in 2015.
The 28-year-old was a key figure in Collingwood’s 2023 premiership campaign.
