Britney Spears explains she drinks to cope with heartache and being ‘abused’ in worrying message

Britney Spears has opened up about her controversial conservatorship and talked drinking to cope with heartache in a candid Instagram post.
The post began with a photo of a golden chalice, followed by various magazine shoots of Britney, 43, taken during her conservatorship.
Britney also said she had been ‘abused 100%’ during the years-long legal arrangement and described how her entire life was ‘controlled’ during this time period.
She also claimed she was ‘abused’ every time she spoke out against the treatment she received during the arrangement.
The arrangement began in 2008 and officially ended in 2021, with her father Jamie Spears serving as co-conservator for a majority of the time, and she has previously slammed him for his role in the legal matter.
Britney began her Thursday post stating she doesn’t enjoy drinking, however suggested she does it when it heart has endured ‘too much.’

The pop icon was entered into the conservatorship on February 1, 2008, with Judge Reva Goetz placing her father, Jamie Spears, and attorney Andrew M. Wallet, as conservators; Britney with her father
‘HOLY GRAIL !!! I’m not lying though. I don’t like drinking. I do it for my heart when it’s been through too much but I’m weird,’ she began in the post. ‘I take on a lot of pain. I honestly shouldn’t and I put it in a lot of work people will never see … I’m posting this now because the language we speak today, our generation about technology in secret is TRASH, admit it !!!’
She also went into detail about her conservatorship, where she says where she went, who she saw, and what she ate were all ‘controlled’.
Britney claims she was ‘abused’ if she ever ‘spoke up’ against the treatment, and insisted she ‘never did anything wrong.’
‘I will show you the pictures that were taken of me during the conservatorship that were all a waste. I was never a star that could speak up in the conservatorship !!! I was in a business that preyed over the innocent and controlled where I went, who I saw, what I ate, which is 100% unfair and if I spoke up I was abused and I never did anything wrong !!! Here are the pics !!!’ she said.
Britney says the only time she ever felt ‘beautiful’ in a shoot was when posing for photographer Ellen Von Unwerth in New York.
‘The only photoshoot I’ve ever done was when Ellen Vonworth shot me in New York City for 2 hours and it was the first and only photo shoot a photographer made me feel beautiful.
‘I will show you over 40 pictures I did with the conservatorship that are not only embarrassing and demoralizing. It almost feels like bullying from a business that was created by my father so he could have 10 women on his tour bus during my tours. The secret is that I was NEVER a star in the conservatorship. I was ABUSED 100 percent!!!
‘PS the American conservatorship made me feel SOO BEAUTIFUL !!! Psss … in conclusion the psychology in all the wasted times on PICS that my little brain sat there day and night for absolutely nothing !!! There’s a reason I obviously don’t like pictures because I like to SEE MY BODY ALIVE AND MOVING !!!’

The post included several magazine shoots Britney did during her conservatorship

The pop icon was entered into the conservatorship on February 1, 2008, with Judge Reva Goetz placing her father, Jamie Spears, and attorney Andrew M. Wallet, as conservators.
Wallet resigned as co-conservator in 2019 and that same year Jodi Montgomery was appointed as Spears’s personal conservator and briefly took control of her finances when dad Jamie had to step away due to illness.
Although he later resumed control, Montgomery remained responsible for Spears herself until her 13-year conservatorship was terminated in November 2021.
The conservatorship began as a temporary arrangement in 2008, but became permanent by the end of the year.
In the years that followed, Britney was deemed well enough to work in what the former estate conservator called a ‘hybrid business model’ in court papers, but not well enough to control her personal life.
The estate controlled who her friends were, where she could go and ‘logged her every purchase down to a drink from Starbucks,’ according to The New York Times.
Britney also told the court she had been forced to use birth control and take medication against her will.
During one court appearance, she told the judge, ‘Ma’am, my dad and anyone involved in this conservatorship, and my management, who played huge roles in punishing me when I said “No” [to going on tour] — Ma’am, they should be in jail.’

Britney went on to marry long-term boyfriend Sam Asghari after the conservatorship dissolved, but they split in 2023 and officially divorced last year.
She recently has rekindled her relationship ex-felon Paul Soliz.
During a recent interview on the Viall Files, Sam said he learned of Britney’s unique legal situation right when they started dating in 2016 — but not from the pop star herself.
‘That was very strange for me to deal with. I got hit with that at the beginning [of his relationship with Spears],’ he told Viall.
When asked by Viall if Britney ‘explained it’ to him, Asghari said that it was someone on Britney’s team who made him aware.
‘She didn’t explain. Somebody called me and said, ‘Oh, just so you know, this is this and make sure you’re obeying by our rules and stuff like that,” he claimed.
Asghari, who immigrated to the United States from Iran at age 12, said he initially feared that Britney was being ‘suppressed’ and ‘controlled.’
‘I’m coming from a country where I dealt with this already. I dealt with women being suppressed and being controlled by men their whole life,’ he explained.

Later on Thursday, Britney shared a short video of herself dancing in a sheer mini dress and a black patterned thong. She was dancing to Christina Aguilera’s ballad I Am

In her caption, Britney revealed she had recorded ‘6 different’ videos of herself dancing to the song. ‘I never shared this one!!! Sorry I’m bored!!!’

She paired her revealing black look with rounded black heels that strapped around her ankles and wore multiple strands of pearls with a gold pendant around her neck
‘So I was like, ‘Ok, this is weird but, wait a minute, this is America. Something doesn’t make sense.”
After the phone call with the unnamed member of Britney’s team, Asghari said he didn’t run to tell the singer right away.
‘Not necessarily. I really tried to understand it. I tried to understand why [the conservatorship] was ever in place to begin with,’ he told Viall.
Asghari appeared to suggest that he had little power in changing the situation as the singer’s boyfriend.
‘You really don’t have much to say especially if you’re just a boyfriend or someone that’s just there [in her life].’
He also admitted that he was ‘afraid’ of losing Britney if he tried to rock the boat.
‘I was afraid they were gonna maybe make me not see her and things like that,’ he said.
