Arnold Schwarzenegger’s LA home ‘swatted’ on Thanksgiving Day after prankster makes bomb threat to police
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s LA home was swarmed by police on Thanksgiving Day after a prankster claimed a bomb had been placed in his mailbox.
The LAPD rushed to the Terminator star’s mansion after a call claimed the device had been planted – but upon inspection of the mailbox and surrounding area, no bomb was found, per TMZ.
Officers spoke with the 77-year-old’s security team who said it would be ‘virtually impossible’ to plant a bomb at his home given his extensive cameras and 24 hour team.
Former California governor Schwarzenegger was not at home at the time of the incident, getting in a workout at the gym ahead of his celebrations.
The LAPD are treating the incident as ‘swatting’ – the practice of making a prank call to emergency services in an attempt to bring about the dispatch of a large number of armed police officers to a particular address.
Sources close to the star said they were ‘grateful officers came to the house on the holiday to check on the situation.’

DailyMail.com has contacted Schwarzenegger’s representatives for comment.
The star was last seen in public before the holiday as he handed out turkeys in Los Angeles.
The actor — who endorsed Kamala Harris last month— was in good spirits as he appeared at Hollenbeck Youth Center and greeted families.
Speaking to Fox 11 at the event, the Terminator actor said about service, ‘Giving back, to me, is everything.’
According to the outlet, Schwarzenegger has kept up the tradition for more than 30 years.
He was joined by 65-year-old actor and comedian Tom Arnold at the youth center, and the two posed up for snapshots together.
Arnold said about the spirit of volunteering, ‘It’s something that will stay with you forever.’
Schwarzenegger was formerly married to journalist and Kennedy family member Maria Shriver.
Schwarzenegger first crossed paths with Maria, the niece of 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy, at a tennis match in August 1977.
The two got engaged after Arnold popped the question in his home country of Austria in 1985.

The former couple tied the knot in 1986 in a ceremony at the Kennedy family home in Massachusetts.
In their 25-year marriage, the pair welcomed daughters Katherine and Christina, as well as sons Patrick and Christopher.
Arnold fathered a son, Joseph, — who was born just days before Christopher — with his mistress, leading to his split from Maria.
