Andrew Garfield admits to Amelia Dimoldenberg they could’ve gone on a real date if it weren’t for the cameras in VERY flirty Chicken Shop Date

Andrew Garfield admitted to Amelia Dimoldenberg that he believes they could’ve had a real date, but that their Chicken Shop Date had spoiled their chance.

Fans were sent into a frenzy when the presenter, 30, announced the actor, 41, would be her next spicy date, after they sparked romance rumours with their ‘off the charts’ chemistry at the Golden Globes.

The pair finally sat down for an episode of her YouTube series on Friday, where the sparks were flying just as strongly as in their previous interactions.

They had previously gone viral last year, after several clips of them flirting while Amelia was interviewing Andrew on the red carpet caused fans to beg for them to date.

And Andrew admitted during their chat that he would’ve taken Amelia on a real date, but then crushed fans’ hopes as he added that the cameras had now ‘f****d up’ the likelihood of it happening.

Probing the Spider-Man star about their chemistry, Amelia said: ‘I think that we.. there’s something going on,’ but Andrew was quick to reply: ‘Do you actually think that or is this for the [show]?’

Amelia denied: ‘No no. I do think it’s interesting that we -‘ before Andrew interrupted her to indicate the surrounding cameras and ask: ‘If this wasn’t here do you think we’d actually go on a date?’

He continued: ‘Do you think this has f****d up the fact that we could’ve actually gone on a date at some point, maybe?’

Amelia admitted: ‘Well I don’t know,’ causing Andrew to push further and admit: ‘Okay but like take out all the practicalities and the logic. I actually believe, maybe, we could’ve. Without all of this. But it’s this…’

Amelia shot back: ‘Because you’re afraid of it’, as Andrew tried to defend: ‘I’m a very private person in my private life.’

The pair stared at each other until both suddenly broke out into giggles, as Amelia then declared: ‘I’m more private than you actually’.

A scoffing Andrew prompted: ‘Tell me. Go on, I’ll wait,’ as Amelia replied: ‘Have you ever seen me with anyone? No.’

But a smirking Andrew shot back: ‘That doesn’t mean you’re more private, that just means you’re not with anyone,’ affronting Amelia.

Amelia announced the exciting news that her long-awaited Chicken Shop Date with Andrew was coming last week, alongside a cheeky snap of the Oscar nominated star gazing over at her as she bit into a chicken nugget.

Captioning the teasing shot, she wrote: ‘The one you’ve been waiting for… My date with Andrew Garfield is out next Friday :)’.

Fans have been begging for the collaboration since the viral Golden Globes interview, where the journalist, who is known for fronting the popular YouTube series, told actor: ‘We must stop meeting like this.’ 

Andrew, whose split from his girlfriend was recently revealed – replied: ‘I only ever want to see you’… before Amelia interrupted ‘What?’

Andrew broke into laughter, saying: ‘I didn’t finish my sentence! I only ever want to see you in these kinds of situations.’

Andrew enquired about Amelia’s star sign, to which she said she’s an Aquarius and the actor replied: ‘If you have a sun sign that’s the same as the moon sign of someone else, it’s good.’

Asked why it would be an issue, he said: ‘I don’t think we should explore this.’

Amelia replied she ‘wasn’t even asking you to’ before saying ‘You’re obsessed with me’.

Andrew flirtily replied: ‘That’s what I’m saying. I’m scared what it could turn into and I’m not ready for that,’ before she quipped back: ‘Oh ok, well I am.’
