Courteney Cox is the latest A-lister to appear on HGTV’s renovation series Celebrity IOU.
On Monday night’s episode the 60-year-old Friends sensation — who counts former co-star Jennifer Aniston as a close friend — surprised an unsuspecting dear pal who was preparing to welcome a baby.
Cox, who recently returned home from Australia, was shown helping with the demolition process and in a confessional interview admitted, ‘It’s not nearly as easy as I thought! They’re not playing.’
And the longtime actress took inspiration from her own home while helping redesign her girlfriend’s new space.
‘She’s going to love this,’ she exclaimed while watching a coffee area of the kitchen take form. ‘She loves my coffee station.’

‘It’s just so good to have things tucked away, and just not have a counter full of appliances and things like that,’ one of the Property Brothers hosts, Drew Scott, agreed.
Courteney elaborated, ‘She gets her coffee station and it’s not amongst everything else, which is so nice.’
She added about her own preference, ‘I like having it separate.’
In another moment Jonathan Scott highlighted a handy set of rolling drawers as he noted, ‘This, I think, is really great too because it gives you the extra storage on the side for your trash bags, your compost… this is going to make life a little bit easier.’
And Courteney said about her close friend, ‘All she wanted was to have a big space between the living room and the kitchen.’
The mission was completed, with the longtime entertainer approving.
‘It’s huge! Like, this room got so much bigger by closing that up,’ she said referencing a design tweak. ‘That was such a smart idea.’
She also jokingly gave herself a proverbial pat on the back after one of her suggestions turned out to be a success, ‘I gotta say, I think I’m great.’
The finished product was a sleek and functional, modern kitchen space
‘It just all worked out so well,’ she gushed in awe after the renovation was successfully executed.
She mentioned a specific one of the group’s accomplishments as she reflected, ‘Taking the curtains down and painting the windows white, it makes it so open and bright.’
‘This is at my house and the fact that we were able to put it here is so incredible,’ she pointed out about another unique feature of the refreshed kitchen — a swivel shelf that easily comes out of its place in the cabinet.
‘There’s nothing worse than having the back of the cabinet where you can’t get anything,’ she lamented before praising the twin brothers as she said, ‘You guys did such a good job.’
Ahead of the episode’s premiere, HGTV teased a clip on Instagram, writing in the caption, ‘It seems Courteney was born to be a renovator! See her flex more of her design muscles on a new #CelebrityIOU tonight at 9|8c.’
