Happy Monday’s star Bez, 60, rocked out ‘until 4am’ at star-studded bash after the MTV EMAs and ‘showed youngsters like Maya Jama, 30, and Leomie Anderson, 31, how to party’

Happy Monday’s star Bez was reportedly the last man standing when the MTV EMAs afterparty drew to a close at 4am in Manchester on Monday morning.

The percussionist, 60, attended the ceremony with bandmate Shaun Ryder, but was later left to his own devices and swiftly showed youngsters like Maya Jama and Leomie Anderson how to party. 

According to The Sun the VIP event was catered by Greggs and saw a number of stars attending following the show at the Co-Op Live Arena, which was hosted by Rita Ora. 

A source told the publication: ‘Shaun didn’t stay as late, but Bez was still enjoying himself when the lights came on at 4am.

‘Everyone wanted to have a chat with him and he was the life and soul of the party. For ages he was hanging out with the band Blossoms but he stayed even later than them.

‘Maya Jama and Leomie Anderson were there for a bit, but Bez showed the youngsters how to party.’ 

A representative of Bez told MailOnline: ‘Bez is thrilled that folk have noticed he can leave the ‘young ones’ behind with his capacity to be the last man dancing at any given event. 

‘He credits his energy down to his ‘simple and healthy lifestyle’ in rural Wales, where he lives. He starts each day with a cleansing cold pressed juice, using his own homegrown organic vegetables, followed by a long walk with his dogs through the ancient woodland.’

Earlier in the evening Bez caused chaos as he refused to let go of the mic during the star-studded ceremony. 

He couldn’t contain his excitement during an interview with host Rita as she fought back laughter in her attempt to keep the show on track. 

With Bez and Shaun both originally from Manchester, Rita joked: ‘We are joined by Manchester royalty tonight’. 

However chaos soon descended as Bez refused to let go of the mic as Rita struggled to get away and remain undistracted by the star. 

As Rita attempted to cut off Bez as she said: ‘Ok well let’s leave that there,’ he interrupted as he added: ‘Rita let me tell you how lovely you are. You make everyone so welcome, you are a special lady.’

Before yelling, ‘Rita Ora everyone make some noise!’

Edging away from Bez she continued: ‘Wait hang on, OK’ as she introduced the next performance from Le Sserafim as Bez laughed around in the background.

Taking to Twitter fans were left in hysterics after watching the unexpected interaction. 

They penned: ‘bez right next to rita as she talks about le sserafim is insane actually’;

‘Bez causing trouble at the mtv emas’; ‘Rita Ora trying to control Bez is not what I expected to see!!’

‘They’ve just had Shaun Ryder and Bez on tho which has been the highlight so far cos Bez clearly OFF HIS FACE. hilarious.’;

Taylor Swift dominated the winner’s board at the MTV European Music Awards held despite not being in attendance herself.

Taylor – who is about to begin the final leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour in Canada – won in the Best Artist category and Best Live Artist category, as well as Best Video and Best US Act also went to the American star. 

Taylor missed the awards held in the UK as she was attending her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s football game where his team the Kansas City Chiefs played against the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium.

Best Hip-Hop award went to Eminem while the Best Electronic gong went to Calvin Harris.
